Catching up…

Busy last couple of days!  Knitting class and seeing Mom on Tuesday during the day…

Tuesday night – I drove over to Cornish to help support the Fire Department and play some bingo.  Didn’t spend much at all – but didn’t win anything either!  But, it was a fun evening spent with some of my Cornish friends.

Driving home was the real kicker!  About a mile from the Town Hall – all you-know-what broke loose…and it started to rain!  Not just a little rain – but huge drops and very fast rain.  My windshield wipers weren’t even putting a dent in clearing off the water!  The biggest problem was that it is a dark country road that I was traveling with no place that would have been safe to pull off.  So, I drove…muttered under my breath…drove more…one time I found myself in the middle of the road but, I couldn’t see the lines or anything…

Made it home safely (obviously – since I am writing this) – and sat in my car for quite a while waiting for the rain to slow down enough to get inside…I got drenched anyway!  It was a really weird rain storm.  Have not seen one like that since we moved here!

Today – went to the doctor to get my blood drawn to see what my silly thyroid is doing – or not doing – as the case may be!

Then went to visit a quilting friend to discuss the charity quilt we are making for the Hands to Heart project.  This quilt is raffled off – and the proceeds pays for massage for folks with terminal cancer and sometimes for their caregiver, too.  Last year, the quilt we made for the project earned over $2,000.  This is our third year…and one of  the other members and I will be putting the top together!  Then another will be quilting it.

Am filling up on wonderful corn on the cob…so sweet!  Tomorrow, I am on the hunt for some end of the summer clothes sales – don’t have anymore shorts that fit me!  Other than that – Killian and I are having fun!
