Sew and Tell Friday…

Over at amylouwho (click on the photo) – she has Sew and Tell Fridays – and it certainly is an encouragement to get things completed.

My local quilt shop gave us a small panel and asked us to do something creative with it – and return it to the store by November 7th.  So, here is what I did:

I made a candle mat…for my table at Thanksgiving.  I took the block and added batting and a really pretty backing fabric.  Pulled the backing fabric to the front to make the binding.

Hand quilted around the green leaves and then added goldish brown beads to the acorns and some green beads to the leaves.  Here is a close up:

One project completed!  On to the next!

How very cute and clever! i love the colors and the pine cones look so real! The small details are what make a quilt or project, don’t you think? The beads are just the right touch! I really like the backing too!

Congratulations on such a great finish!

Very pretty. I love those little challenges. My shop gave me a set with an apple motif. When I finished it, rather than return it for a free fat quarter, I wrote:
Coming to the USA on it and sent it to Fabiola in Peru.
