Comfort Quilt…

Cornish Quilt Guild Comfort Quilt –

Throughout the year we make these star blocks – they are made to go into our comfort quilts which we give to people in our area who are suffering from illness (such as cancer or other long term illnesses) or maybe a death that they are having a hard time coping with.

Once we get enough of a certain kind, color, or whatever – someone will take 20 blocks home and make the quilt top.  I was honored to bring these blocks home and put together the quilt top.

The blocks were trimmed down to 10 inches x 10 inches – and then the sashing and cornerstones were added.  Sashing was cut 3-1/2 inches which makes it 3 inches wide.

Now it will go over to Colleen who will quilt it on her long arm machine … and it will be ready for someone when it is needed.

Here is a close up of it…I really enjoyed working on this quilt…it made my heart feel good to finish it up before Christmas!

Looks like this qualifies for Amylou’s Sew And Tell Friday

Update on Carl:

He is off the ventilator and is heading for a rehab hospital for a few weeks.  Thank you again for your thoughts and prayers!!!
