My Vacation Trip…

On Friday, I left to enjoy my birthday weekend at a knitting retreat!  The retreat was put together by Siobhan Perricone.  Did she ever do a great job!  We are on Ravelry (a knitting site) and while a few of us knew each other from either blogs or local knit shops – it was pretty much a group of folks who didn’t know one another. We got along wonderfully!

We stayed here!  This is Seyon Lodge in Vermont.  It is part of the Vermont State Park Division…and it is beautiful.

I rode up to Vermont with my friend, Dianna from Maine.  We had a great time on both the trip up and the trip home.

There was spinning…

There was carding…

There was knitting…

And, more knitting.

Here I am knitting!!!

Among all this fiber fun – we had tons of snacks – and some really awesome food.

Dinner the first night was a baked pasta, salad, chocolate vegan cake (which was awesome) and maple custard.

Breakfast both days included – cereal, juice, milk, yogurt, homemade granola, scones, and muffins.  Yummy!

For lunch on Saturday – we had veggie quesadillas – oh – they were good!  Salad and homemade chocolate chip cookies rounded out the meal.

Dinner on Saturday – was chicken and veggie stir-fry, brown rice, and handmade veggie rolls.  Dessert was ice cream and hot chocolate.

There were four people there who had allergies of one kind or another – and the staff never once complained – and went out of their way to prepare special meals for those people.  They were awesome.

I’ll finish telling you more about it on Wednesday…but, I’ll leave you with another outside shot…
