Birthday Week-end…

A group of great people who didn’t really know each other spent a wonderful week-end knitting, spinning, and learning from each other.

Outside it was beautiful.  Cold, but beautiful.

Charlton drove up from Boston.  Here he is working on a beautiful sweater which he finished – but he spent a lot of time teaching us how to do mosaic and strand knitting.  It was really fun to learn.

Here Laila shows off her class project.

There was entertainment…Karen has traveled around and performs “cranky” shows.  What a fun thing to see – and we were entertained both evenings!

And there were finishes:

Amy finished spinning and plying to finish this beautiful skein of yarn.

Dianna (on the left) finished a beautiful lace baby blanket.  It just needs to be blocked.

And, I finished a pair of socks!  For my friend, Colleen – who quilted a quilt for me…and we bartered.

And, here we are!  It was a great time!  And, a birthday I will always remember.

Tomorrow – I’ll take you to the alpaca farm we visited on the way home.
