Time Out…

I’m taking some time out – No, I haven’t been a bad girl…it’s just that I need some time.

A couple friends and I have decided that we want to quilt and knit and just spend some time together…so, we are taking next week to do so.  No schedules – no nothing…so that means I don’t want to feel like I have to rush home to get my blogging or reading of blogs done…

Besides my computer needs a quick look over – she is sluggish (sounds like me) and I’m thinking my computer guru here in town might want to check her out..

So, don’t panic if I miss reading your blog – I’ll get all caught up when I get the ‘puter back and when my friends and I end our week of being creative.

Rest assured there will be lots and lots of photos!!!

Beware the Oyster…

I love oysters!  Raw or fried…But, last night – I got hold of a very bad one somewhere during dinner…

And, I was so sick last night.  Never got to bed until 6:30 this morning!  But slept a few hours and am much better!!!

A friend reminded me that there is NO “R” in August!  Do you believe that or do you think it is an old wives tale???

Ten on Tuesday 2.0…

10 Things You Would Tell a College Freshman

1)  Take one class each semester that is a fun class!  You’ll have plenty of “have to take” classes – so you need one that you can enjoy and relax with.  It may be one of the “have to take” classes – but it is one that you enjoy.

2)  Make sure you get enough rest.  College can be busy – but, you’ll need your rest to do well.

3)  Be selective in choosing your friends – take time to get to know new people before accepting them into your circle of friends.

4)  Eat well-balanced meals!

5)  Treat yourself to something each week – it doesn’t have to be something big.  A nail polish, a nice smelling soap, an ice cream cone.

6)  Learn who the “good” teachers are – they will be the ones who will challenge you.

7)  Have an outlet of some type to blow off steam – whether it’s listening to music, going for a walk, or vegging in front of the tv for a few hours.

8)  Make good use of the library – it can be a great place just to get away from it all and study.

9)  Stay safe and travel in pairs if you go off campus – or at least let someone know where you are going…

10)  And, above all ENJOY THE EXPERIENCE!

It’s that kind of day…

But, the only one sleeping was Killian.  I did get up late – but, then ate breakfast, took a shower, and left to visit a friend for a little while and then head for my doctor’s appointment.

Let’s get the doctor’s appointment out of the way…I am doing well with the diabeties!  And, I now weigh 137 – down from 153…so, I lost 16 pounds.

Got to visit with Mother.  She was in a really happy mood – but, I’m not at all sure she realized it was me.  But, that’s okay…She was honored last month by being chosen Resident of the Month…

Dropped by the farm of a friend of mine – first time I’ve seen it…and oh, it was so nice.  Got to meet all the dogs!  And, the horses – one which is just HUGE!  Beautiful horses…

Saw some brand new little chickens…they were so cute and yellow yellow.

Other than that it is a quiet rainy day…

The yarn is Regia 4-fadig Square color.
