Computers…

I don’t even want to tell you what I think about computers…Other than I’ve come to realize I really depend on them…and guess what – mine died yesterday!

So here Iam trying to figure out how to use a new computer – it is a laptop and has a ton of bells and whistles…and I think Ilike it..if I can get used to the keyboard!!!.

So my posts may be short for a few days – cause I have to get used to it…

See you tomorrow!

Class tonight…

My library, Fiske Free Library offers crafts classes every month.  They are sponsored by the Friends of the Library…of which I am president.  I’ve never attended a class before tonight – but, I decided it was time.

The class tonight was a free class on making wind chimes.  We had quite a crowd…and it was a lot of fun.

Each person was provided with 3 pots which we then painted:

Here I am painting the larger pot… (These are terra-cotta pots that one buys in the gardening section).

Painted and added flowers – those are supposed to be tulips – but, I’m not the greatest artist.

Decorated with beads and ribbon…

And, the finished product…two painted pots tucked inside each other – and you have a pretty set of wind chimes!  I actually had a lot of fun making them!

Gift from UK…

Recently the One World One Heart giveaway happened.  I didn’t participate this year as I was still in the process of unpacking  …

But, I did drop by and sign up for some really special items that I saw…and I was a winner at Niky’s.  I won this:

This lovely charm is going on my key chain…It really is beautiful and I was very happy to win it from such a talented artist.

Thanks, Niky!

Fun Day…

Today I decided to run up to Lebanon to Kohls and LL Bean.  I had a coupon for a 1/2 birthday dinner and free dessert at Lui Lui.  It is a fun restaurant – and they have the best Caesar’s salad around.  I had a wonderful dish – Chicken Marsala with lobster and asparagus served over penne.

While at Kohls I picked up two pair of jeans to replace the two pair of jeans that are ripped … I like Gloria Vanderbilt jeans as they fit me pretty well…and they have “short” ones.

Then I stopped at LL Bean – and did I hit the deals there – bought this great Camp Shirt and this great Corduory Belted Trench Coat – but I bought it in RED.   They were on sale – both for under $40.00.

That’s my day – how was yours???

Snow Humor…

My friend, Sue, sent me the following in my e-mail today…I just had to share it…Don’t know where she found it – but, it certainly made me smile.

Next week’s commute…

Welcome 2011…

2011 – a new year!

No resolutions this year – I’m not big on them!  I do have some ideas about some things that I would like to see happen…

1)  I want to explore my creativity more…both with quilting and knitting – and even some beading.

2)  I want to live each day in the present – and enjoy my circumstances, surroundings, and life.

3)  I want to de-clutter my house – and plan on knitting from my stash, quilting from my stash, and passing on books as I read them.

4)  I want to cook more – and try new recipes and foods!

5)  I want to take better care of my body, mind, and spirit.

6)  I want to buy more handmade things, buy from local businesses, and quit the “big box stores” …

7)  And, I want to keep in better touch with family and friends…

So there you have some of my intentions for this new year!

Remember Bargello???

Began a four week class at the quilt shop – it is a bargello quilt…

The fabrics are from Mayfield Studios and oh are they soft…the two prints that are in black will be the borders…

The other fabrics were sewn as you see – had to make 3 sets of them…

Then:

It was cut up like this…Next Wednesday night will be the second class!  Can’t wait to see how this quilt goes!
