2012 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 4,100 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 7 years to get that many views.

Photos…

Here is the photo that was taken yesterday at the library ornament making party.

It was fun to make these lovely little ornaments…

Okay, so, I’m getting in the mood for Christmas – don’t faint!

Library…

We are very fortunate here in Claremont to have a wonderful library.  Tonight they had a fun night where anyone who wanted to could come by and make an ornament…

I thought I would drop by – especially since I had a couple of books that were reserved and they came in.

So, I ended up making some pretty little pinecone ornaments.  Just put some nice blue paint on the edges – and then sprinkled them with silver glitter!

Then I came home and spent a few hours knitting on my new afghan – got 24 rows done – which is an entire pattern…

Photos tomorrow…

Water … Ugh…

Killian and Friends 013

Killian, here…

Well, I’m not happy – not at all!  Seems there is something called E-coli in the city’s water and I can’t drink out of the bathroom faucet…

Mom tried to explain it to me – but, I want my water.

She is busy boiling water – so, I’ll tell you good night for her… she’ll be back tomorrow.

Knitting…

There has been lots of knitting going on here – some I can show you and others you will have to wait until after the holidays to see…

First up:

A hat I made for myself.  The yarn was some left over yarn which has some sparkle to it.  I needed it to match my hot pink coat from L L Bean which I bought last year.

Secondly:

8 charity hats that I knit for the Soup Kitchen hat tree…

(Looks like we have to wait for photos til tomorrow – since WordPress is giving me fits about uploading photos!  😦

Early Christmas Party…

Tonight was our Cornish Quilt Guild Christmas Party.  We usually take a handmade gift wrapped in a Christmas fat quarter…This is what I gave – a nice red scarf.  It was knit out of Caron Simply Soft and is machine washable and dryable.  Makes a difference when it is going to someone you don’t know.

We had a really nice time and as always the food was awesome…

Christmas Shopping…

Finished my Christmas Shopping tonight!!!

It was such fun to get the things that I really wanted for my family and friends.  I’ve done a lot of knitting for my daughter, Tara, but, I still wanted to get her a couple of things that weren’t handmade.  Plus there were the fur babies to buy for – and she has two dogs and three cats; Scarlett and Jami have one dog, Zac, and one cat, Oreo; and, of course, I have Killian.  So they are all taken care of.

And, as I was getting on the Interstate to get home in the rain – my windshield wipers quit! Just froze…my neighbor and friend, Marilyn Heath, helped me get back off the interstate by guiding me and helping me see the lines in the road- and we went to a gas station. This lady tried to help me with a new fuse – but, not to be. So, we took the back roads home (22 miles) stopping along the way to manually move the wipers. Got home safely – and it only took an extra half an hour.

Guess whose car is heading in to the shop tomorrow…
