Happy Birthday, Mom!

Friday Fill-in #178

FFI

Happy Memorial Day weekend to all who celebrate it 🙂

And…here we go!

1. Potato Salad — the best food to take on a picnic.

2. Summer is really here – especially with temps in the 90s.

3. I hate wearing flip flops.

4. To love someone is one of the best things in life.

5. I love taking a long hike.

6. When I crave food, it’s usually is some thing salty.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to having a hamburger and onion rings at Scoop City, tomorrow my plans include laundry and maybe running up to the Art Show Opening at St. Gaudins and Sunday, I want to go to the Farm Fest in Hartland – which is just a hop, skip and jump from home.

Thanks to Janet for the fill-ins and for the lovely photo!!!

Inchworm Fabrics…

Oh, I received my prize from Inchworm Fabrics…

The honey bun is called Crazy 8 by Sandy Gervais for Moda.  The pattern is called Dianthus TSS 3035 by Three Swans Studios…

Ten on Tuesday…

Once again, my friend, Carole, came up with a great topic…

Ten Favorite Cookout Foods

1)  Hot dogs – this is usually the only time I like hot dogs – and I want the natural casing hot dogs.

2)  Hamburger – I like burgers that are grilled out side.   They just taste better.

3)  My potato salad – I don’t put onions in it…

4)  Corn on the cob – no doubt it is my favorite thing.

5) Root beer – I love root beer and since real beer is not on my diet – I’ll take the root beer.

6)  Grilled veggies – root veggies on the grill – nothing better.

7)  Shrimp – yummy

8)  Real home-brewed ice tea.

9)  Chocolate cake – or a sour cream pound cake.  Ice cream optional.

10)  A huge green salads with everything in it – and bleu cheese dressing.

What I Bought…

Never did show you what I bought at the New Hampshire Sheep and Wool…so, today seems like a good time to do that.

I always buy from a couple of vendors that I really like – and because this is the only time of the year that I see them.

One of them is:  BallandSkein

80% Alpaca and 20% Silk – Color:  Peacock Strut  400 yards.

It will be a shawl called Feather Duster.

Another vendor that I buy from each year is:  A Touch of Twist

Yarn is called Impressions – in the Moonlight Dance Colorway – 100% Wool  – 275 yards per skein.

The other is my friend, Heather.  This was her first year vending at NH S&W – and I was so happy to see her there.  Her yarn shop is called Sereknity Yarn and Fiber.

Yarn is:   Sock Options SHimmer – 60% Superwash Merino/30% Bamboo/10% Nylon

Colorway:  Cupcake – 420 yards – Fingering Weight.

Yarn is Sock Options Good Harbor – 70% Superwash Merino/30%  Seacell

Colorway is Belladonna = 375 yards – Fingering weight

Then each year I pick a new vendor.  This year it was Dorchester Farms.

I fell in love with these colors – the Yarn is Hand Painted Sock Yarn – 75% Wool, 25% Nylon – 200 yards.

Will be making a pair of fingerless mitts for myself.

There you have it – that’s what I bought.  Not a lot – but stuff from my favorite places.

Meet Ramsey…Comments…

It seems I have a new granddog…The fellow at the back of the photo is Ramsey.  He is a hound mix … and joined his brother, Griffin (foreground) at my daughter’s house.

Comments have once again overloaded my e-mail and I am worse than behind…

A big thank you for all the kind words and help since I became a diabetic – and since my surgery.  I am pleased to say that my doctor said I was doing better than better…and I don’t have to go back for a month – which will be my final check-up.

I’m going to be honest and say that I don’t think I will get to all the e-mails to answer them privately – but please know I have read them all and I am thankful to have so many friends…and now I will begin to go back to answering e-mails as I get them…
